TheRed Centre Nats 10 was a massive four day celebration, of a successive ten years of the hottest street cruising car show in the Australia. Red Centre Nats has become an iconic Northern Territory annual event, drawing automotive enthusiasts from across the country to witness the spectacle. Showcasing top-of-the-range street machines, elite show cars, hot rods, classics, and exotics. Thursday kicked off with the local Northern Territory Aces and Eights Car Club holding a cruise and concluding in the town centre of Alice Springs at the Fringe Festival. Friday was all about the Burnout discipline, it was qualifying at the pad at the Inland drag way site. It was excellent the see South Australians entered. Saturday was a scorcher as everyone tried to stay cool, first up everyone headed to the Inland Dragway for the Drag racing Grudge runs, then back to the main show grounds at Blatherskite Park, with grass driving, Show and Shine plus elite cars and Michael Calliss made it into the top 10 Elite with the black 1957 Chevrolet Belair4door hard top from Murray Bridge SA. Also the hand built South Australian Chopped Ford Mercury of Daniel Van Geel, a Black 1950 Mercury Lead sled Coupe “ El Choppo” winning the top custom and finishing in the top ten. The jaw dropping four wheel drive track taking no mercy on the vehicles that attempted the course. The town centre was closed off and the town came alive with the streets lined with spectators watching the methanol cars that were allowed to participate in this unique event. Hundreds of specialized vehicles took part with the two South Australians cars leading the parade behind the police escortDavid Cufone in American Style police car and Barry Dine in his customized Corvette . The days are so action packed, Saturday night it was back out to the drag way for the heavy hitters to blast down the track. The final day Sunday was father’s day and the day kicked of with coffee and cars. The road to grand champ needed entrants to complete the drag racing and the Tarmac Time trial. It was an even hotter day and it was time for the burnout finals. The weekend wrapped up with a podium party at Lasetters Casino featuring a Guns and Roses cover band.
